Shortly after Father Sawicki was first informed, last July, that the Cardinal wanted to close the Church, "The Villager" and "Downtown Express" published an article entitled Lady of Vilnius and ‘Pretzels’and ‘Provolone’ may lose home .The article and photos capture the charm, character and history of the parish. I have come to consider it "Our Lady of Vilnius 101", an introductory course or primer for the uninitiated. I will re-read it myself because it evokes the times that I spent there before the parish fell under this shadow.
