Our Lady of Vilnius Roman Catholic Church stood on Broome Street in Manhattan at the Entrance to the Holland Tunnel since 1910 Cardinal Egan locked it on February 26, 2007. It was demolished in 2015. I live here even though it is gone

Cardinal Egan's Successor?
This morning's post from Rocco Palma's Whispers in the Loggia intimates that changes in the Curia could result in Cardinal William Levada succeeding Cardinal Egan as Archbishop in New York. Read The Inquisition Comes Home

Let us hope that the fothright Adamkus will tell the Pope to reopen the church. I have little hope in the succession of NY archbishops and in the whole hierarchy including the Lithuanian hierarchy. Putrimas is a shameless liar and he never denied that he agreed with Egan to close the church. He and Baltakis never spoke to the parishioners, but wew in constant touch with Egan. Saulius Simoliunas
