Mercy Sunday, Too: Spiritual Nourishment at Sacred Heart in Hartsdale

On Mercy Sunday, parishioners from everywhere Father Wenceslaus Rodrigues has served gathered to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his ordination.

A choir gathered from the choirs, past and present, of St. Stanislaus Kostka, St. Matthew and Sacred Heart joined in the loft to offer thanks and praise.  Father Christian, who ministers to the German community,  played a prelude and Communion meditation on violin,  accompanied by ad hoc choir director Susan Muller on synth-harpsichord.

Among concelebrants were Fr. Wency's former Pastors, Msgrs. McCorry and Carney as well as current Sacred Heart Pastor Msgr. Larkin.

Father Wency shared his love of music, his love of the Lord and his exuberance by singing in a singularly heartfelt way a hymn that he brought with him from India.

After the Mass all were invited to a reception in the school gym, where we were treated to antipasto and finger sandwiches with a distinctly Italian flavor.

Father Wency was a gracious and radiant host on his special day.

We wish our fellow pilgrim in our more-than-ever pilgrim Church "ad multos annos' and "sto lat!"
