Purpl, formerly St. Stanislaus Kostka, is on the market in Hastings on Hudson

The church of St. Stanislaus Kostka is located at 52 Main Street in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.

The building was purchased from the Archdiocese of New York by the Saul Silbert Charitable Trust after which it became the Purple Crayon Center for Learning and Social Innovation.  Over the years it morphed into purpl, a self-development and co-working center.

The building is now on the market for an asking price of $1,250,000.  Click here to view the listing.

Although the last Mass at St. Stanislaus took place in October, 2005, it hurts to hear the church described as "a prime Main Street commercial space."

I hope that it is purchased by someone who appreciates its aesthetic and history and dedicates it to the arts or religious practice.

This is one of the times that I regret not being wealthy.
