Today is the Feast of St. Rita of Cascia, patron of impossible causes

Ask St. Rita for her help in our impossible cause of saving our church, reuniting our parish and helping the Archdiocese of New York regain the confidence of the faithful by exhibiting corporate behavior consistent with the teachings of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

What a nice photo of the church! A view we don't ordinarily get to see unless we're willing to cross the endless traffic going into the Holland Tunnel. Look at that tiny, vigilant owl in the rose window.

I love this shot. I tried to get one like this myself, but the police always shout at me through the loudspeaker. The photographer has a lot of good work on his site. I am going to link to it in the post.
